In a thrilling and chaotic London derby, Chelsea emerged victorious with a 4-1 win over a nine-man Tottenham side, with Nicolas Jackson scoring a dramatic injury-time hat-trick.
The game started with an early lead for Chelsea as Dejan Kulusevski’s strike, deflected off Levi Colwill, found the back of the net. Tottenham’s Son Heung-min had a goal disallowed for offside during their energetic start.
As the first half progressed, Cole Palmer equalized for Chelsea from the penalty spot. Destiny Udogie and Cristian Romero of Tottenham received VAR reprieves over potential red cards. Raheem Sterling and Moises Caicedo also had goals disallowed, and Romero was eventually sent off for a studs-first tackle on Enzo Fernandez, leading to the penalty for Chelsea.
This chaotic half ended with Tottenham suffering injuries to key players Micky van de Ven and James Maddison. Additionally, Udogie’s reckless challenge on Sterling meant that Tottenham had to play the final 35 minutes with just nine players, and their unbeaten Premier League season began to slip away.
