Rising Tensions: Ghana’s #OccupyJulorBiHouse Protest
Today marked the conclusion of the third day of, a youth-led protest in Ghana aimed at highlighting the hardships faced by citizens under the Nana Addo regime. The people of Ghana have been enduring severe challenges, and they believe that this peaceful demonstration will help amplify their voices. Numerous celebrities and influencers lent their support to this cause, with some physically present at the protest and others using Twitter as their platform. Prominent figures such as Stonebwoy, Manifest, Efia Odo, SDK, Sneaker Nyame, Kwadwo Sheldon, and Mempeasem President actively participated in the movement. Celebrities and influencers who chose not to get involved faced heavy criticism on Twitter and in the public arena.
On the previous days, many protesters experienced acts of violence, with journalist Bridget Otoo falling victim to one such assault. These attacks left the victims with injuries and enduring significant pain, further underscoring the challenges faced by those seeking to make their voices heard.
