Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has addressed the ongoing comparisons between Belgian-Ghanaian winger Jeremy Doku and English forward Jack Grealish for a spot in his team. Guardiola emphasized that the deciding factor in selecting one of these players for a game is their performance.
“Jeremy can also play on the right, so it’s not just about the left wing. Who plays more will be determined by who performs better,” Guardiola stated. He also pointed out that Phil Foden is another option for the left wing position, reinforcing the idea that performance will be the key criterion.
Doku, who recently joined City, has made an impressive start, earning praise from Guardiola for his abilities as a winger. On the other hand, Grealish, who arrived in 2022, played a significant role in City’s treble-winning season.
