Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi has expressed his admiration for Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane, acknowledging him as one of the greatest players in history.
Messi, who recently engaged in an Adidas Football interview with Zidane, praised the Frenchman’s playmaking skills, dribbling ability, and overall elegance on the field. Despite the historical rivalry between Barcelona and Madrid, Messi admitted to following Zidane closely during his time in Madrid, describing him as a symbol of elegance, art, and magic in football. Zidane, a 13-time trophy winner for club and country, secured major honors, including the 1998 FIFA World Cup and the 2001-2002 UEFA Champions League, throughout his illustrious 17-year senior career with Juventus and Real Madrid.
The 1998 Ballon d’Or recipient retired from football in 2006, leaving an indelible mark on the sport.
