Ghanaian gospel musician Piesie Esther has acknowledged the unique voice of Black Sherif and expressed her wish for him to consider joining the gospel music community.

She looks forward to seeing the VGMA Artist of the Year become an influential singer who spreads the gospel through his music. Speaking in an interview on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show on Monday, May 8, 2023, Piesie Esther said, “He has that kind of powerful voice, and I love it.

It is my wish that someday he will come and join me in gospel.” The ‘Waye Me Yie’ hitmaker also expressed her desire to work with Black Sherif on a gospel project as soon as possible. She emphasized that the secular and gospel sectors can collaborate to spread the word of God, despite their differences.

During the show, Piesie Esther shared her admiration for the 21-year-old and acknowledged his hard work in the past year. For this reason, she was open-minded about whoever won the ultimate prize at the VGMA event. “I had it in mind that whatever was going to happen, I would be okay with it.” Black Sherif ultimately won the Artist of the Year award, while Piesie Esther received two notable awards: Gospel Artist of the Year and Gospel Song of the Year. Her hit song “Waye Me Yie” also won the Best Gospel Song award.
