Manchester City’s Erling Haaland acknowledged seven strikers in world football when he was playing for Borussia Dortmund some years ago, he believes these players are currently better than him. In an interview with Norwegian outlet ‘Verdens Gang,’ the then 20-year-old listed Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo, Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Manchester City’s Kun Agüero, Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino, and Chelsea’s Timo Werner as the forwards who outperform him at present.
Haaland specifically focused on players who are known for their finishing skills and did not mention other top-quality attackers such as Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar. Notably, among the players not mentioned were Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe, Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku, and Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema.
It’s worth mentioning that five out of the seven strikers Haaland ranked above himself currently play in the English Premier League (EPL), while Lewandowski and Ronaldo play in the Bundesliga and Serie A, respectively.
He made these statements when he was playing for Borussia Dortmund. Currently Erling Haaland plays for Manchester City and he is leading the goal chart with 30 goals in 27 matches.
