On the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Black Sherif hoped to win Album of the Year among other categories. He revealed his expectations in an interview with ZionFelix.
Though he did not win Album of the Year, the young musician took home three awards, including Artiste of the Year, Best Hip-Hop Song, and Vodafone Most Popular Song.
During an interview with Berla Mundi on TV3 after his win, Sherif discussed how he felt about not winning Album of the Year. He explained what he meant when he said “Yawa,” a Ghanaian slang for disappointment, after his name was not mentioned as the winner in that category.
