The Diversity Immigrant Visa Program (DV-2024), popularly known as the visa lottery, offers a chance for up to 55,000 foreign nationals and their families from across the world to legally immigrate to the United States with a green card in 2024. The U.S.

Department of State has announced that on May 6, 2023, entrants to the DV-2024 can check  if they have been randomly selected for a visa. Those who have applied for the visa lottery can verify their application status at the Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs website by clicking here . Starting from 12 p.m. EST on May 6, the lottery results can be accessed through the DV Entrant Status Check function, which is the only way to verify whether a person has been selected, and this will be available until September 30, 2024.
