Bofoakwa Tano, after a thrilling playoff at the Accra Sports Stadium, emerged victorious and secured their return to the Ghana Premier League after a 16-year absence. They triumphed in the Ghana Division One League Zone One playoff against Eleven Wonders, a match that captivated fans with its twists and turns, ultimately leading to a dramatic penalty shootout.

Eleven Wonders and Bofoakwa Tano had already showcased their dominance by finishing at the top of their respective zones, with Eleven Wonders leading Zone One A with 52 points and Bofoakwa Tano triumphing in Zone One B with an impressive 63 points.

The match started with excitement as Leslie Aryeetey opened the scoring for Bofoakwa Tano in the 7th minute. However, Eleven Wonders showed their resilience and equalized early in the second half with a goal from Osman Zackaria in the 46th minute.

With no further goals in regulation time, the game moved into extra time. Despite both teams’ tenacious efforts, the stalemate persisted, leading to a nerve-wracking penalty shootout.

In the shootout, both teams showcased their skills from the spot. Bofoakwa Tano had a momentary setback when Oblitey missed their sixth penalty, but Eleven Wonders couldn’t capitalize as Osman Zakaria failed to convert his spot-kick.
